Black Obsidian $8 per pound.  Buy raw Black Obsidian rough, uncut.  Natural, unpolished specimens are in bulk at our online rock shop.  This listing is natural black obsidian (volcanic glass) sold by the pound.  The sizes and colors of each specimen will vary slightly because these are a product of nature.  You will not receive the exact specimen shown on the image.  

Raw Black Obsidian for Flint Making

Black obsidian is frequently cut into a flint in the shape of an arrowhead. It is an excellent specimen for rock tumbling.

How is black obsidian made/formed?  Black obsidian is formed from magma.  It is an igneous rock.  You will note that there appears to be a film outside the rock.  When it is cut or broken, you will see the shiny interior.   It can also be polished and or tumbled.
