Bumble Bee Jasper is a soft stone, with a Mohs hardness of 5 or below.Ā This porous rock is easy to cut and polish. This stone is a combination of volcanic matter, Anhydrite, Hematite, Sulfur, and Arsenic.Ā
The lovely patterns on this stone are very similar to what you will find on a bumblebee insect, hence the name.Ā The yellow color in this stone is due to Sulfur, which is toxic, and arsenic; please wash your hands after handling.
